Anarghyaratna Manoeuvre Foundation

Our foundation is based in Sedam, which is in the Gulbarga district. We are over in the R.K. Layout, and our office is actually in the house of Shri Sridhar, the son of Shuvasharanappa. It’s a very traditional setup, typical of this part of North Karnataka. Sedam can get extremely hot, especially in the summer months, so we usually do most of our work in the early mornings or late evenings when it cools down a bit. The layout is a quiet residential neighborhood with dusty roads and kids playing outside. We don’t have a big sign or any office decorations. We just use one of the front rooms for all our filing and meetings. It feels very personal because we are working out of a home. People from the town know where we are and often stop by for a chat or to ask questions. We usually offer them water or tea and sit on the floor or on some simple chairs. There isn’t much in the way of high-tech gear here, just a basic computer and a printer that sometimes jams. We manage the foundation's affairs as best as we can with what we have. It is a slow process sometimes, but that is the way things move in a place like Sedam. We are just local people trying to handle our responsibilities and keep the foundation going without making things complicated or expensive for anyone.
