Abhay Weaving Mills Llp is tucked away in Dollar Colony, specifically on 3rd Main in the 2nd Stage. It’s a bit of an interesting spot for a weaving business because the area has changed so much lately. We are at number 106. Most people think of this part of Bangalore as just houses, but we have our operations running right here in the 1st Block. The machines take up a good amount of space and they have a certain rhythm to them. It isn’t always quiet, but the neighbors are used to us by now. We spend a lot of time checking the threads and making sure the looms are behaving. Sometimes the power goes out and everything stops, which is just part of living in Bangalore. We don’t have a big reception desk or a bunch of people in suits. It’s mostly just the staff in their work clothes moving around. Getting trucks in and out of these streets can be a bit of a headache with the traffic on the main road, but we manage it day by day. We’ve been at this address for a while and have seen the trees grow taller while the buildings got more modern. We just keep our heads down and focus on the weaving. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. You’ll usually find someone drinking coffee near the entrance.
