Aadi Khadi Gram Udyog Private Limited

Our place is located at #44/58-13 in Bommanahalli. It’s a bit of an industrial-feeling area but we focus on Khadi and gram udyog stuff. This means we deal with traditional fabrics and the kind of work that usually happens in smaller village settings, even though we are here in the city. We’ve got a small team here. Most of the time we are busy with the spinning or checking the texture of the cloth. Khadi has a specific feel to it, and we try to keep that going. The office isn't anything special, just a desk and some chairs near the entrance. We have a lot of storage for the raw materials because they take up a lot of room. Bommanahalli can get quite loud with the traffic, but inside it’s mostly the sound of the work being done. We didn't want a big corporate space. This unit works for us. We handle the orders as they come in. Sometimes things get a little disorganized when a big shipment arrives, but we sort it out eventually. Aadi Khadi has been around this part of Bangalore for a bit. It’s just a group of us working with the looms and the threads. We like the hands-on nature of the job. It feels more real than sitting at a computer all day long. It’s hard work, but seeing the finished cloth makes it feel worth it. We just want to keep the tradition alive in our small way.
