Our place is situated in the Channapatna Taluk area, specifically at Tattekere Lalagatta Post in Ramanagara. The name R S O D Spices Exports Pvt Ltd sounds a bit more formal than we actually are. In reality, we are just a local operation spread across units 59 to 63. We mostly deal with spices that are common in this region. The facility is a bit tucked away, which is nice because it’s quiet and we have enough space for the trucks. A lot of the people who work here come from the nearby villages and have been with us for a long time. The work is mostly about weighing, packing, and making sure the bags are sealed tight. It can get quite dusty, especially when we are handling dried chilies or turmeric, so we have to be careful. We aren't trying to be some massive global company. We just want to make sure the work is done right every day. Sometimes we have issues with the electricity or the machines break down, and we have to fix them ourselves. That’s just how it goes when you’re running a business in a rural area. We handle all the shipping documents and phone calls from our small office. It’s a lot of back-and-forth with the transporters, but it feels good when a shipment finally leaves the gate. It's hard work, but we've built something steady here for our families.
