Maruthi Charitable Federation

Things are a bit different out here in Thodebhavi compared to the city. We operate out of survey number 251, covering several plots from 1 through 9. It’s a lot of ground to look after. The Maruthi Charitable Federation is run by people who live right here and know the soil. We don’t have a fancy street name or a high-rise office. It’s more about being on the land and seeing what’s happening with our own eyes. Some days it’s dusty, other days it’s muddy when the rain hits. We spend a lot of time outdoors or in small sheds talking about what the community needs. It’s not a glamorous job, and we don’t pretend it is. We’ve got a lot of paperwork to keep track of because of all those different survey numbers, so that keeps us busy at the desks too. You won't find us wearing suits or using big corporate talk. We speak like everyone else here. If something needs fixing, we try to fix it. If someone needs a hand, we see what we can do. It’s slow work sometimes, but it’s real. We’ve been part of this landscape for a while now and we know the people around these parts. We just keep our heads down and get on with the chores that need doing. It’s a quiet life, mostly, but there is always something that needs to be handled before the sun goes down.
