Gramaabhiruddi Mahila Matthu Makkala Seva Foundation

We've got our setup here at number 2251 in Kuchappa Pete. This is in the 17th Ward of Doddaballapura. It’s a busy neighborhood and people around here know us as the Gramaabhiruddi Mahila Matthu Makkala Seva Foundation. It’s a long name, but it says what we do, mostly helping out women and kids in the local area. Our office isn't anything special to look at from the street. It’s just a regular building where we keep all our files and meet with people. Channapatna isn't too far off either. We spend a lot of time talking to folks who walk in off the street with different needs. There is always some paperwork to fill out or a meeting to attend somewhere in the village. We don't have a big staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. Sometimes the office gets a bit dusty when the wind picks up, but that is just how it is here. We have a few old wooden tables and chairs that have been with us since the start. It's a place where people feel comfortable coming in to talk. We don't use big words or try to act like we know everything. We just listen and see how we can help out with the resources we have at the moment. It’s a bit slow some days, and then really busy the next. It’s just how things go for us in Doddaballapura.
