Uttar Baster Kanker Farmer Producer Company Limited has a small shop in the Tandiya Complex. We’re at Shop No 5, Ward No 4, right by the Khutgoan Chowk in Durgkondal. It’s a busy little corner of Uttar Baster. Being in a commercial complex means there’s always something going on around us. You can hear the noise from the other shops and the traffic at the chowk all day long. The shop itself isn't very big, so we have to be careful about how we stack our supplies and files. We spend a lot of time standing at the counter talking to people who stop in. It’s a practical space, meant for work rather than looking good. We have a few chairs for visitors, but they’re usually occupied by someone waiting for paperwork or just catching up on the local news. Durgkondal is a rugged place, and the people here are hardworking. We try to match that energy in what we do. It’s not a polished corporate office with glass walls. It’s more like a hub for the farmers in the area to come and get things sorted. Sometimes the lights flicker when the weather is bad, but we just keep going. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe ourselves. We’re just here at the complex, doing the daily work that needs doing until the sun goes down.
