Laxmi Rice Mill

Laxmi Rice Mill is out in Village Post Rajoli, which is part of the Mul Tehsil. We are situated in Dongargaon, right near the main road. It is a rural area, so things move a little slower here than they do in the big cities. The mill is a central part of the community for many of the local farmers. We have been here for quite some time now. The building is simple, made of brick and tin, and it shows its age in a few places. Inside, the air is thick with the smell of processed rice. We spend our days managing the intake of paddy and making sure the machines are greased and running right. It is not always easy, especially when an old belt breaks or the power flickers. Most of the people who work here are from Rajoli or the nearby villages, so we all know each other’s families. In the evenings, when the work is done, we often sit out by the main road and watch the buses go by. It is a quiet life for the most part, except for the roar of the mill during the day. We do not have a website or any fancy marketing. People just know we are here by the sound and the sight of the big stacks of bags waiting to be moved. It is just honest work in a small village.
