Up here in Hospet, work at Venkatachalam Mines Private Ltd usually starts early. Our office is tucked away in J.P. Nagar, specifically on 1st Cross. It’s a decent area, though the dust from the mining operations in the Bellary region is something you just get used to after a while. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the practical side of things. There’s a lot of coordination involved when you’re dealing with mines. Phones are always ringing and someone is usually coming in with a report or a request for supplies. It gets pretty hectic during the middle of the day. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we keep the records and meet with the crew. We’ve been in Karnataka for a long stretch now, so we know the local landscape pretty well. It’s hard work and the days are long, but that’s the nature of this business. We don’t spend much time on fancy talk. We just focus on the mining tasks at hand and making sure the trucks are moving.
