Our place is out in Gonal, which is near Bellary. If you know the 583101 area, you know it’s a lot of engineering and industrial work going on around here. Mcnally Bharat Engineering Company has its presence right in this spot. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here sometimes from the main town, but this is where the actual engineering happens. The site at Gonal is usually pretty busy with people moving around and things getting built or fixed. It isn’t the kind of place you’d find in a shiny city center. It’s more about the grit and the actual machines we use. We have a lot of space to work with, which is necessary for the kind of stuff we do. Most days are spent looking at plans and then seeing how they work out on the ground. The sun gets quite strong in this part of Karnataka, so the midday hours can be tough, but the crew keeps at it. We’ve been here long enough that we know the local rhythm. We aren't big on formalities. If you come by, you’ll likely see people in work gear just trying to get through the day's tasks.
