We are based at K-1/9 in V.V. Nagar, right there in Torangallu. This is the heart of the Vijaynagar Works for Jsw Steel. If you’ve ever been to this part of Karnataka, you know it is all about the steel. Our office is situated in the residential and administrative patch of the township. It is a functional space where we handle a lot of the day-to-day coordination for the works. The building isn't anything to write home about, just a sturdy place that keeps the sun out. We deal with a lot of paperwork regarding the steel production and the movement of goods. Because we are right on-site, we see the trucks and the workers moving at all hours. It is a 24-hour kind of atmosphere even if our office hours are a bit more regular. We have a small team here and everyone knows their role. We don't go in for anything fancy; we just make sure the numbers add up and the schedules are met. The heat in Torangallu is quite something, so we mostly stay indoors and keep our heads down. It’s a busy life, and there is always something that needs fixing or a person who needs a document signed. We just do what is required of us to keep the Vijaynagar side of the business going. It is honest work and it keeps the community here supported and active throughout the year.
