Jsw Steel Ltd, Bellary, Karnataka.

Our house is O-7/4 in the V.V. Nagar Township. It’s a small place in Toranagallu, which is a village that has basically turned into a massive industrial hub because of the Jsw Steel plant. Living here in the Bellary district means you’re surrounded by iron ore and heavy industry. Our daily life is very much tied to the sounds of the plant. You can hear the hum of the machines from the front porch. It’s a bit of a rugged place, with lots of trucks moving back and forth on the roads near the township. We don't have much in the way of greenery, mostly just the red dust that the wind carries. The township itself has everything we need for day-to-day living, like a small market and some space for the children to play. It’s a community of workers and their families. Everyone knows what it’s like to work the long hours. We don’t really do anything fancy here. Our days are filled with the routine of school, work, and chores. It’s a practical way to live. The weather gets incredibly hot, so we spend a lot of time trying to keep the house cool. We’ve lived in this house for a bit now and it’s become home. It’s not a perfect place, but it’s where we belong for now while the work is still going strong.
