Our office is over in the BDCC Bank Colony in MJ Nagar, which is a pretty quiet part of Hospet compared to the main industrial zones. It’s actually at Ishwarappa Hubballi’s place, care of T. Chandrashekar. Being in the Bellary district, you can’t really get away from the steel business even if you tried. It’s everywhere you look. We keep a simple operation here. There’s no big sign with flashing lights, just a regular building where we handle the logistics and the steel paperwork. Karnataka has a lot of these smaller hubs that keep the bigger projects moving. We spend a lot of time talking to local suppliers and making sure the loads are balanced. The dusty roads around here are always full of trucks, and we’re just one part of that whole chain. It’s not a glamorous job, sitting in a room surrounded by ledgers and metal samples, but it’s what we do. We know our neighbors and they know we’re the steel folks. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three things happen at once, but we just take it one step at a time. No one here wears a suit unless they absolutely have to for a wedding. Most days it’s just work clothes and a lot of coffee while we sort through the day's tasks. It is just a normal life for us here in Hospet.
