Gammon Hardware

Started the shop at 25-34-5 in Shankar Hill Town quite some years ago. It’s a quiet enough spot in Toranagallu but we stay busy with people coming in for bits and pieces. The shelves are mostly full of nuts, bolts, and the usual stuff you’d find in a hardware place. Sometimes the dust gets a bit much because of the construction nearby, but we try to keep things clean enough to find what you need. It’s just me and a couple of guys working here. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything, just the name Gammon Hardware on the front. People usually find us because they live close by or they're working on a project in the neighborhood. The morning starts with opening the shutters and checking what needs to be restocked. There's a tea stall just down the road that we go to twice a day. The address is a bit of a mouthful when you're telling someone over the phone, but once they see the hill town entrance, they usually get here fine. We spend most of our time looking for specific sizes of screws or helping someone figure out why their pipe is leaking. It’s not a glamorous job but it keeps the lights on. Sometimes we run out of things and have to wait for the next delivery truck, which can be annoying for the regulars. We just do what we can with the space we have here.
