Erection Engineer

If you find yourself on New Street in the Kalimedupost area of Thanjavur, you might see us. Erection Engineer is located at number 1314. It’s a busy little spot in Tamilnadu where we spend most of our daylight hours. The street outside is usually full of bikes and people going about their business. Our office isn't anything special to look at from the outside. It’s just a regular building with a door that sticks a bit when it rains. Inside, it is mostly just us and our tools and some old filing cabinets that have seen better days. We don't use much fancy English or have big meetings about goals. We just look at what needs to be built or fixed and we do it. The tea man comes by twice a day and that’s usually when we take a break. Being in Jebamalaipuram means we are part of a tight community. Everyone knows who is who. We have been here for a good amount of time now and the walls are covered with sketches and notes from old jobs. It isn't the cleanest office in the world, but it is where the real work happens. We don't have a receptionist to greet you, so you usually have to shout a bit to get someone’s attention from the back. It’s just a practical way of working for a small team like ours. We keep things simple and get on with it.
