Bhuwan Hallow Bricks

You’ll find us over in the 2nd Ward at No-212 in Hampatatana. We are right near the Anjmer Temple, so it’s easy to find if you know the area. We focus on hollow bricks here. It’s a bit different from the solid ones. The yard is usually full of these grey blocks drying in the sun. It’s just a small group of us working here every day. We start early before it gets too hot because the machines generate a lot of heat themselves. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit around and talk until it comes back on. It’s part of the job. Being near the temple means we hear the bells and the people passing by all the time. We try to keep things tidy but with cement and sand everywhere, it’s a constant battle. We don’t do much advertising. People mostly know us because they live nearby or they saw a truck leaving the gate. We load the blocks by hand mostly, so it keeps us busy and tired by the afternoon. It’s simple work but it needs to be done right or the bricks just crumble. We just stick to what we know and keep the business running as best as we can without making things too complicated. It’s just us doing our thing in Hampatatana day after day. We hope to stay here for a long time yet. It gets pretty loud when the mixing starts.
