Prabhat Castings

Down here on P.B. Road, things stay pretty busy. We’ve been at 374 for quite some time, right near the P.O. Shahapur area. It’s a dusty spot, mostly because of the trucks passing by all day long. Inside Prabhat Castings, it’s usually hot because of the work we do. Metal doesn't move itself, so there is a lot of lifting and shifting things around. We’ve got some old machinery that makes a lot of noise, but it still does the job fine. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit when the sun goes down just to get some air. The building itself is nothing special to look at, just a practical place for making things out of metal. We don’t really bother with making the place look pretty since it’s just going to get dirty again by tomorrow morning. Most people who come by are regulars who know exactly where to find us. We don’t spend much time talking about what we do; we just get on with the casting work and try to finish before the day ends. The floor is always covered in sand and bits of scrap, and my boots are ruined from the heat, but that’s just part of the trade. It’s a simple setup we have here. We keep our schedules on a wall calendar that’s half-peeling off. Nothing fancy, just hard work every single day on P.B. Road.
