Mahatma Gandhi Clinic

Mahatma Gandhi Clinic is based in Kempavad, over in Athani. It’s a small clinic, not one of those huge hospitals you see in the big cities. We mostly see people from the surrounding village and local areas. Being in Athani, we are a bit of a local fixture for the people living nearby. The building is quite modest. We have a small waiting area and a couple of consultation rooms where we talk to patients. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else, which makes it feel friendly. We don't have any high-tech gadgets or modern designs. It’s just a plain clinic with the essentials for basic health care. We open up early and usually stay until the last person is seen in the evening. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty being where we are, but we keep it as clean as we can. It’s a straightforward operation. We handle things like fevers, coughs, and minor injuries that people have. Most people just walk here or come on a bike from their homes. It’s a quiet life in Kempavad for the most part, except for the occasional busy morning. We aren't looking to grow into a massive center or anything like that. We are just happy being the local clinic that people can rely on when they aren't feeling well. There’s no corporate talk here, just neighbors helping neighbors out with their health. It’s a small team of us, and we like it that way.
