Hindalco

Working in Belgaum for Hindalco has its own vibe. Our location is a bit away from the main city noise, which is nice when you’re trying to focus on a lot of numbers. The office is pretty basic—just some desks, chairs, and a lot of filing cabinets that are probably fuller than they should be. We deal with all sorts of things throughout the day, from managing supplies to answering questions from the main office. The weather in Belgaum is usually alright, though it gets a bit damp during the monsoon. We have a few windows that look out onto the trees, which is a nice break from looking at the computer screen all day. We’re just a bunch of regular folks who have been in this industry for a while. We don’t really go in for those corporate slogans or big promises. We just try to make sure that whatever needs to be shipped out gets shipped, and whatever needs to be signed gets signed. It’s not always perfect, and sometimes we make mistakes, but we always fix them eventually. There’s no big hierarchy here; if something needs doing, whoever is free just grabs it and gets it done. It’s a simple way of working, but it’s worked for us for quite a few years now. We just keep going.
