Gerared Hydro Power Private Limited

Our workshop for Gerared Hydro Power Private Limited is at No. 153/585 in the Machhe Industrial Estate. We focus on parts for small hydro plants. It’s a lot of metalwork and looking at technical drawings. The industrial estate is a busy place with a lot of noise from all the different factories. We have a few lathes and milling machines that we use to shape the components. It’s just a small group of us working here. We spend our time figuring out how to make things fit better. Sometimes we get a big turbine part in for repair, and it takes up most of the floor space. We don't have a front office with a receptionist or a fancy lobby. You just walk through the main door and you'll find someone in grease-stained clothes. We do a lot of our own maintenance on the machines because they are getting old. We don't talk about being the best, we just try to get the dimensions right for the customer. It gets cold in the mornings in Machhe, so we start with a hot drink to warm our hands. We have some old benches where we sit for breaks. Most of our work comes from people who know our father or the guys we used to work with in the city. It's steady and we like the technical side of the work. We just keep our heads down.
