Choudhari Home Industries

Shahapur is a part of town with a lot of history, and Saraf Galli is right in the middle of it. Our place, Choudhari Home Industries, is at number 1171. It is exactly what it sounds like, a business we run right out of our home. It’s a bit of a maze getting here if you don't know the streets, but that’s just how Belgaum is. The house is old, with thick walls and high ceilings. We do most of our work in the front rooms and keep the back for living. It gets a bit noisy when we are in the middle of a big batch of work, but the neighbors don't seem to mind. They are doing similar things in their own houses. We don't have a big sign or a fancy showroom. Most of the people who buy from us just walk in through the front door. We sit down, have some water, and talk about what they need. It’s a very slow and personal way of doing things. We don't have a lot of rules or a corporate handbook. We just work until the job is done. Sometimes we work late into the night if there’s a lot to do. It’s a family thing, so everyone helps out where they can. Saraf Galli is a tight-knit place, and we are just glad to be a part of it at 1171. It’s not corporate, it’s just how we earn our living.
