It’s a busy road most of the time. You can hear the traffic and the horns all day long, which is just how life is in this part of Belgaum. The office isn't anything big or modern, just a practical space where we sit and handle our daily tasks. The floor is old but we keep it clean enough. Usually, around lunch, the smell of food from the hotel across the street drifts over and makes everyone in the office hungry. We spend most of our time stuck at our desks. There’s always someone new coming in or a phone ringing in the background. Sometimes the electricity acts up, but that is just part of being in an older neighborhood like this. We have a few fans that keep the air moving, and the windows stay open unless it is raining hard. It’s a local spot, not one of those corporate offices with glass walls and fancy rugs. We like it that way. Most people who come here are regulars who already know the way up the stairs. It is a bit of a climb but not too bad for most folks. We’ve stayed in this building because it’s central and everyone knows the area well.
