Shreedhar Engineering Industries

Our place is B-4/1 in the Bemcel Industrial Estate. We are tucked away in Udyambag, right behind the State Bank of Mysore. Shreedhar Engineering Industries is mostly a workshop where we handle different engineering jobs. It’s usually a bit messy with scraps of metal and various tools lying on the workbenches. We have a few lathes and some welding equipment that we use every day. The sound of grinding metal is pretty common here. We don't have a fancy office for meetings. If someone wants to talk, we just stand near the machines or sit on some plastic chairs. The light in the workshop isn't the best, but we have some big bulbs over the main work areas. Being behind the bank makes it easy for people to find us. We’ve been in Udyambag for quite some time now. We know the other shop owners around here. We help each other out with tools or advice sometimes. It’s a tough job and our hands are usually stained with oil or grease by lunchtime. We don't spend money on brochures. If people like the work we do on their parts, they come back. It’s as simple as that. The rain can be quite loud on the tin roof during the monsoon. We just keep our heads down and get the engineering work done. The old dog from the bank often sleeps near our gate.
