Shantaveer General Store

I’ve been running Shantaveer General Store for a long time now. We are located at 7/46-8 in Bableshwar, right on Nidoni Road. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else. I open the shop early in the morning, usually before the sun is fully up, to catch the people heading off to work. The shelves are packed with all sorts of things, from bags of rice and lentils to soap and small toys for the kids. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes because I keep adding new items wherever they fit. Nidoni Road can be quite dusty, so I spend a good part of my morning dusting off the jars and boxes. I have a small stool behind the counter where I sit when things are quiet. My son helps out in the evenings after he finishes his schoolwork. We don't have any fancy scanners or computer systems; I just write everything down in a big ledger and use a small calculator for the totals. The building is old and has some cracks in the plaster, but it stays relatively cool inside. People come in not just to buy things, but to chat about the local news or the weather. It’s a simple life, and I’ve been behind this same counter for more years than I can count. Sometimes the milk delivery is late, and I have to explain it to the regulars.
