About Sameer Ice Cream – Food & Beverages in Belagavi
Sameer Ice Cream is right near Guttan Temple in Mahalingapur. Our house number is 276. Being so close to the temple means we see a lot of people on festival days. It gets very crowded on the street then. We have been here for a while now. The shop is just a small room at the front of the building. We have a couple of deep freezers that stay on all the time. Sometimes the noise of the compressors is the only thing you hear. We get our supplies from the local distributors. It’s hard work lifting the heavy crates into the freezers. My back usually hurts by the end of the shift. We don’t have a menu printed out or anything like that. People just look in the glass and point at what they want. It’s easier that way. Sometimes the kids get indecisive and stand there for ten minutes. We just wait. There’s no rush here. The lights inside are a bit bright, but it helps people see the colors. We keep a trash can outside, but people still leave sticks on the ground. We have to sweep the front area three or four times a day. It’s a simple life. We close up when the temple crowds go home. Most days are okay, but the summer months are when we really have to work hard to keep up with everyone.
