S.G.V. Ayurvedic Madical College Hospital & Research Centre

We’ve been here in Bailhongal for a good while now at S.G.V. Ayurvedic Madical College Hospital & Research Centre. It’s a busy place where we handle both teaching students and taking care of folks who come in feeling unwell. The building is right here in town, easy to find if you’re local. Every morning starts early with the students getting their notes ready and the staff checking on the patients in the wards. We deal with all sorts of things using traditional methods. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in the hallways when classes are switching over, but that is just how it is in a college hospital. People come from the surrounding villages too, not just Bailhongal. We have the research side of things going on in the back rooms where it’s a bit quieter. It isn't a fancy corporate setup with glass walls and uniforms. It’s more of a practical space. The herb smells are usually quite strong near the pharmacy area. We spend a lot of time just talking to people about their digestion or joint pain. It's a lot of work keeping up with the paperwork for the college part and the hospital part at the same time. The roof needs a bit of paint here and there, but the equipment inside does the job. Most of us have been working together for years so we know how the day flows. It’s just a regular part of the community here in this part of town.
