Patil Store

Patil Store is right on Bazar Peth Road in Khanapur. We are at number 154, and it’s a very busy street with plenty of people walking by all day long. Being on a main road means there is always something happening outside the front door. We sell all sorts of things, and the shelves are usually packed tight from top to bottom. It can be a bit of a squeeze when we have more than three or four people in the store at once. We know a lot of the folks in Khanapur because they’ve been coming to us for years. We don't really do any advertising; people just know where we are. The wooden floorboards in the back part of the store creak whenever you walk over them. We’ve thought about fixing them, but they’ve been that way forever. Most of our day is spent helping people find what they need and restocking the items that sold out the day before. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and lifting boxes. Sometimes we get a little tired, but that’s part of running a local store. The atmosphere is usually friendly, with plenty of talk about the weather or local news. We don't try to be a fancy supermarket. We are just a local shop on Bazar Peth Road trying to keep the community supplied with what they need. It’s simple work and we like it that way.
