Parasharam Rices

If you take the Vengurla Road down towards Hindalga, you’ll find us at number 1258. Parasharam Rices has been part of the scenery around here for a good while. The smell of the grains is the first thing you notice when you walk in, especially on the days when we’re moving a lot of bags around. It’s a bit of a workout, dragging those heavy sacks across the floor, but it keeps us busy. We don't have a big fancy showroom or anything. It’s mostly just the warehouse space and a small corner where we keep the records. The floor is always a bit dusty from the rice husks, no matter how much we sweep it. Hindalga is a quiet enough area, but Vengurla Road gets its fair share of traffic during the harvest times. We know most of the farmers who come by personally. We’ve sat and had tea with half the town at this point. Sometimes the machinery makes a lot of noise, so you have to shout a bit to be heard over the hum. It’s simple work, really. We just take the rice in, sort it out, and send it where it needs to go. We don't have any big slogans or anything. We just focus on the bags and the weight and making sure the counts are right at the end of the day.
