Paras Hospital

Paras Hospital is located in Bedkihal, which is part of the Chikodi Taluka. It is a bit different from the big city hospitals because things move a little slower out here, though we still stay plenty busy with the local folks. People come in from the surrounding farms and the town area. The building is a solid structure that has been part of the landscape for a while. We have the basic medical setups and a few wards for people who need to stay overnight. It is not a flashy place with glass walls. It is a practical building with ceiling fans and sturdy furniture. The staff often speaks the local language with the patients and everyone seems to know someone who knows someone else. We deal with all sorts of things, from minor cuts to people feeling quite poorly. The waiting area is often a place where neighbors catch up while they wait for their turn. We do not have any big corporate goals written on the walls. We just open up in the morning and see who needs help. It can get dusty when the wind blows across the open spaces in Chikodi, so we are always dusting the desks. It is a local hospital for local people, run by people who live nearby. We just do the work and keep the place going as best as we can.
