New English School

New English School is located in Saundalga, which is part of the Chikodi area in Belgaum. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, so things are a lot quieter here than they are in the bigger towns. The school itself is a plain building. We don’t have a lot of extra money for big signs or fancy gates. We just have the classrooms and the basic things the kids need to learn. Most of the families around here are involved in farming or small local businesses, so the kids know what hard work looks like. We try to reflect that in how we run the place. There’s no nonsense. The teachers show up, the students sit down, and we go through the lessons one by one. On hot days, the rooms can get a bit stuffy, but we keep the doors open to let the breeze in from the fields. We have a small area for sports, but it’s mostly just flat ground where they play whatever they can with a ball or some sticks. It’s a very practical environment for everyone involved. We don’t use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We’re just here to make sure the children in Saundalga get their schooling without having to travel too far from home. It’s been this way for a while, and we just keep the cycle going every year without fail.
