Meer Spices

Our shop is at 16/173 Namjoshi Road, right near the Basaveshwar Circle. It’s a very busy spot with a lot of traffic passing by all day long. We have been here for quite some time, dealing in all sorts of whole and ground spices. You can find things like cinnamon sticks, peppercorns, and big bags of dried chilies. The building is old and has these high ceilings that hold the heat in the summer. We keep the spices in big glass jars or wooden bins so people can see what they are getting. It’s a very traditional way of doing things. I spend a lot of my time weighing out small amounts for customers who just want enough for one meal. My hands are always smelling of different spices, which my wife says she can smell as soon as I walk through the front door at home. We don't do any big promotions. People in this part of town just know we are here. It’s a small business, and we don't have many employees, maybe just a cousin who helps out when it gets really busy. The noise from the circle is constant, but you get used to it after a while. It’s just a part of the day. We are happy to just stay in our corner and keep the spice jars full for whoever comes in.
