Manjunath Store

Manjunath Store is located at 321, Baligar Galli in Saundatti. It is a small place, but we pack a lot into it. Every morning starts with me sweeping the front and getting the new stock ready. We carry the basic things people in Saundatti use in their kitchens. Things like dal, sugar, and the spices you need for daily cooking. The shop has been at this same spot for quite a few years now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to get to it. Our customers are mostly our neighbors who have lived in Baligar Galli as long as we have. They know where everything is on the shelves, sometimes better than I do. It gets a little cramped inside when more than three people are standing at the counter, but we make it work. I don't use any fancy systems, just my ledger and a calculator to keep track of sales. Sometimes the delivery truck is late and we run out of something, which is frustrating, but that’s part of running a shop here. It is a simple life, opening up, talking to the regulars, and making sure the jars are filled. If you’re passing through Saundatti, you’ll find us right there on the street. It’s a honest living and we’re glad to be part of the community here for as long as we have been.
