Kisan Hospital

This building on Kangral Galli has been here for quite some time. We use the ground floor and the space above to help folks who are not feeling well. It is an old house that we turned into a hospital, so the layout is a bit narrow in some places. We have several beds set up and a small area for people to wait. It gets quite busy in the mornings when everyone shows up at once. We spend a lot of time walking up and down the stairs to check on people. The rooms are plain, with just the basic furniture needed for care. We do not have a big cafeteria or anything like that. People usually bring their own food or have family members drop it off. We keep the medicine cabinets locked and the floors mopped. It is a very straightforward operation. Sometimes the alley outside gets a bit crowded with scooters and cycles. We just manage the space we have. The staff is small, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from answering the door to helping with the patients. It is not a shiny, new medical center. It is just a place in the neighborhood where we try to help out when someone is sick. We keep the lights on late into the night. It is hard work, but it is the work we have chosen to do.
