Kambi Hospital

Kambi Hospital is located right in Ramdurg. Being in a place like Ramdurg Ho, things are a bit different than the big city hospitals. It’s more of a community feel here. The building is a simple structure that fits right in with the rest of the street. We don't have any of those fancy digital screens or high-tech lobbies. Instead, we have a sturdy front door and a few benches where people sit and chat while they wait. The dust from the road sometimes blows in when the wind is high, so we are constantly dusting off the window sills and the tops of the cabinets. Most of the people who come to see us are from the nearby villages or they live right here in town. We know most of their families. The day usually starts with the sound of the town waking up and we stay open until the evening when the street lights come on. Our staff is mostly local people who have lived in Ramdurg their whole lives. We keep the medical supplies in the back room and the front area is just for the patients. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the occasional busy market day when the town gets crowded. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a basic hospital providing what the people in Ramdurg need without them having to travel too far away. We just take things one day at a time here.
