We are located right in Muslim Galli, at house number 121/1 in Kabbur. It’s a quiet enough spot in the Chikodi area of Belgaum. Kabbur Veerabhadreshwar Chits has been operating from this location for a while. Being in a small town like this means we know almost everyone who walks through the door. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a room with some sturdy furniture and our record books. We do a lot of our work by hand because that’s how we’ve always done it. It feels more personal that way. People from the village and nearby areas come to us when they want to put some money aside. We sit and talk about their families and the crops before we even get to the business part. That’s just how life is here in Karnataka. We don’t have a website or fancy apps. If you want to talk to us, you just come to the Galli. The street can be narrow, so parking a big vehicle is sometimes a bit of a struggle. But people manage. We keep our hours regular, though sometimes we stay late if a member needs to finish their paperwork after their own work day is done. It’s a simple operation. We aren't trying to be a big city bank. We just want to help our neighbors manage their savings in a way that makes sense to them. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy during the day.
