Jakanoor India Nidhi is over in the Tilakwadi area, specifically at 202/A-2/A in Sukrawar Peth. This is a busy part of Belagavi, and there is always something going on outside our door. The office is located in a spot that’s easy for people to reach while they are out doing their shopping in the Peth. We handle Nidhi operations, so a lot of our work involves small savings and helping people manage their cash. The office is quite small and filled with the smell of old paper and ink. We have a few desks pushed together and some shelves that are overflowing with account books. It’s not the most modern looking place, but it works for us. We know most of the people who come in because they live just a few streets away. Sometimes they stay for a bit to chat about the local news or the prices in the market. The street noise from Sukrawar Peth is constant, but we’ve learned to tune it out while we count the money and update the passbooks. We don’t have a big team, just a few local people working here. We try to keep things simple for everyone who walks in. It’s just a regular neighborhood office where people feel comfortable coming in to sort out their small financial matters. We just keep doing our daily routine and checking the numbers.
