We’ve been here at shop number 8 in the Parvati Complex for a good while now. Gondhali Galli is a busy spot, and you can usually hear the noise from the street while we’re working inside. Most days it is just us helping folks find a frame that doesn't slide down their nose or explaining how to put in contact lenses for the first time without blinking too much. It’s a small place, honestly. We have shelves lined with different glasses and a chair for testing eyes. Sometimes people just pop in because their hinge broke or they sat on their spectacles. It happens more than you’d think. The light in here is a bit bright because we need to see the tiny screws and parts of the frames. We keep things pretty simple around here. There is a lot of back and forth with the labs to get the lenses right, and we spend a lot of time on the phone checking on orders. It’s not a fancy setup, but it works for what we do. People from around the neighborhood know where to find us. We keep our doors open and try to get through the day's work one person at a time. It’s mostly just the regular routine of checking eyes and making sure nobody leaves with blurry vision. That is how things go here at Drushti Opticals and the day just passes by.
