D D M Kirana Store is sitting at 102/18 on the Channa Basaveshwara Colony Road. We are part of the Lecturers Colony area, which is usually a bit quieter than the main market streets. We’ve been running this store for a while now. It’s a simple setup. We keep the daily essentials that most families around here look for. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be smart about how we stack the bags and boxes. You’ll often find us rearranging things to make more room. It’s just the way it is. We don't have any fancy displays or bright neon signs. People in the colony know us by name, and that’s enough. We open up in the morning and wait for the regulars to come by for their daily supplies. Sometimes we run out of things, but we try to get them back in stock as fast as we can. Working in a Kirana store means long hours and lots of lifting. My back hurts sometimes by the end of the day, but that’s part of the job. We don’t try to be something we’re not. We’re just a local shop providing for the people nearby. No big corporate goals here, just making sure the neighbors can get what they need without traveling too far. The colony is mostly peaceful, especially in the afternoons when everyone is inside. We use that time to restock the rice and lentils. We've seen trees grow tall.
