Borgaon Textile Cluster Federation

Our base is over at House No 117/7 in Kasanal, Belgaum. We are located at Kaish Shoukat Bagwan’s place, so it is a very local and community-oriented setup for us. Borgaon Textile Cluster Federation isn’t some big institution with a skyscraper office or a lobby. We are right in the heart of where the work actually happens in this part of Belgaum. Being a cluster federation means we spend a lot of our time talking to local weavers and textile workers who live nearby. The house is often busy with people dropping by to discuss their work or check on the progress of different textile initiatives we are helping with. It is a very grounded way of doing things, I think. We don’t use a lot of fancy technology or have a slick marketing department to show off. Most of what we do is about bringing people together to make the textile work more efficient for the local families involved. The streets here in Kasanal can be quite lively during the day, and there is always the sound of the neighborhood in the background while we work. It is an honest, hard-working environment. We focus on the practical side of the industry, trying to help out where we can. It is not about being a big corporation; it is about the local folks who have been doing this for generations and just need a place to coordinate.
