Our workshop is located in Borgaon, which is part of the Nippani taluk up in the Belgaum district. We are at house number 276 in ward 3. It’s a place where we do sizing and warping for the textile industry. If you know anything about weaving, you know how important it is to get the threads right before they even hit the loom. That's what we do all day long. We have the machines set up and the workers know exactly how to handle different types of yarn. It gets pretty noisy in the shed when everything is running at once. My family has been around this area for a long time and we decided to set this up to help the local weavers get their work done faster. It’s a practical business. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. Just the floor where the work happens and a small corner for keeping our records. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we have to wait a bit to restart, but that's just how life is in rural Karnataka. It feels good when the threads leaving our place are actually ready for the next step. It’s a very specific kind of job and not many people have the patience for it around here. We just try to stay consistent and help our neighbors get their cloth made properly. Most of our staff have been with us since we opened up the place.
