Aspirants

Up on the third floor of this building on Kirloskar Road, we spend our days at Aspirants. One thing you notice right away is the smell from Jay Shankar Bakery which is just downstairs. It makes everyone a bit hungry by mid-afternoon. We are right in the Bogarves area of Belgaum, which is a busy intersection. The walk up to the third floor is a good bit of exercise for everyone. Once you get inside, it is a standard setup with enough room for people to sit and focus. We have windows that look out over the road, so you can see the buses and cars going by all the time. It is a bit of a climb but it keeps the noise of the street a little further away than if we were on the ground floor. We have some basic furniture, nothing too modern or expensive. It is just a place where people come to put in the hours. Belgaum weather is usually decent, so we leave the windows open when we can. There are always books piled up on the main desk. People come here with a lot on their minds, so we try to keep the atmosphere steady and calm. It is not a flashy place with glass walls. It is more of a practical space for studying. We have been here above the bakery for a while now and most people around Bogarves know where to find us.
