Patel Rice Mill

Patel Rice Mill is out in Simariya Chalka, Kokhar. You can find us right near the Main Road. It is a busy spot because of the mill. There is always the sound of machines running in the background. It is a steady hum that you get used to after a while. We process a lot of grain here. The air is often filled with the smell of husks and dust from the milling. It gets on your clothes and in your hair. We don't mind it much. This mill is where we spend almost all our time. We start early when the sun is just coming up. Farmers bring their loads to us, and we get to work. The building is large and open to let the air circulate. It can get very hot inside during the summer months. We have a small area where we sit and take our tea breaks. The floor is concrete and has cracks from years of heavy use. We haven't changed much about the place since we started. It works well for what we need to do. People from the surrounding villages know us well. We don't have a website or anything like that. If someone wants to talk to us, they just come to the mill and find us near the machines. It is a simple way of doing things, but it has worked for our family for a long time. We just keep the machines oiled and the work moving until the sun goes down.
