You can find us at the home of Shri Rajabhau Sridhar Gire in Limbaganesh. This is in the Beed district, within the Beed Tehsil. Jandhanmahila Urban Nidhi Limited is what we call our small company. We work from a local residence because it is easier for the people in Limbaganesh to reach us. It is a very rural and quiet setting compared to the big cities. We focus on helping the women and families in this area manage their finances. We do not have any shiny office furniture or a professional cleaning crew. We sweep the floor ourselves and keep the records in big metal cupboards. Most of our members are our friends or relatives of people we know. We handle the savings and the small loans that help keep the local economy moving. It is a simple operation. Sometimes we have to wait for the rain to stop before people can come by the office. We spend a lot of time drinking tea and discussing the local news with whoever drops in. It does not feel like a bank, and we do not want it to. We are just part of the Limbaganesh community. We keep things honest and straightforward. If there is a problem with the paperwork, we sit down and figure it out together. That is the way things are done here in Beed. No big corporate attitude, just neighbors helping each other out with their money.
