Aarti Chemicals

Aarti Chemicals has been at No. 121 Heda Sadan for a long time now. We are located right in Heda Gali, which is one of those narrow lanes where everyone knows everyone else’s business. Working with chemicals isn't always easy, and there is a lot of heavy lifting involved with moving drums and bags around the storage area. The space inside Heda Sadan is a bit tight, so we have to be very organized about where we put everything. Our days are spent checking labels, measuring out quantities, and making sure the orders are ready for whoever is coming to pick them up. It’s a practical environment, nothing like those clean labs you see on television. There is usually a bit of a chemical scent in the air, which we don't even notice anymore, though visitors always mention it. Heda Gali can get pretty crowded with carts and delivery bikes, so getting things in and out requires some patience. We mostly deal with other local businesses and people who have been coming to this street for years. We don't use much technology here, just the basic stuff to keep the records straight and the bills paid. It’s a steady routine of opening up early, handling the stock, and chatting with the neighbors while we wait for the afternoon heat to pass. We just keep our heads down and get the work done as it comes in.
