Kaival Stone

Out here in Patel Maval, things move at a bit of a different pace than in the big cities. Kaival Stone is based right in the village area, which is part of the Bayad taluka in the Sabarkantha district. It is a quiet place mostly, except for when we have the machinery running to handle the stone. Most of the people working here are from around this area, so we all know each other pretty well. The roads around the village can be a bit narrow, so getting the stone moved out takes some careful driving and patience. We spend most of our time out in the open, dealing with whatever the weather feels like doing that day. It is hard work, and our hands are usually covered in grit by the end of the shift. We started this place because stone is what we know. There isn’t much to the office, just a place to sit and some papers, because the real work happens outside. People from the nearby towns usually find us because they have heard about us from someone else in the district. We don’t do much advertising or anything like that. We just show up every morning, get the equipment started, and see what needs doing. It is a practical way to earn a living and we have been doing it this way for a long time now. The stones are heavy and the days are long, but it feels right being out here.
