Umang Red Cross Institute Of Special Education

Umang Red Cross Institute of Special Education is located on Kotkapura Road, near the Baba Farid area in Faridkot. We work with children who have different learning needs. It’s a bit different from your average school. The building is part of the Red Cross setup here. We have specialized staff who are trained to handle various disabilities. It’s a quiet place for the most part, as we try to keep things calm for the students. We have some therapy rooms and basic classrooms. It’s a lot of one-on-one work. The families that come to us are usually looking for some extra support that regular schools can't provide. We don't have a lot of funding, so we make do with what we have. Sometimes the equipment is old, but we keep it in good shape. The teachers here are very patient. They have to be. We see small bits of progress every day, and that's just how it goes. It’s not an easy job, but the staff here has been doing it for years. We're well known in Faridkot for this kind of work. People know they can come here if their child needs a bit of extra help. We just take things day by day and try to keep a positive environment for everyone involved.
