Taranjit Singh Architect

Our office is at 7006, Ranjit Press Street, just off Court Road. It’s an old part of the area, and we like the feel of it. Taranjit Singh Architect has been here for a good while. When you walk in, you’ll see drafting tables and a lot of pens and rulers. We still use a lot of traditional methods alongside the new stuff because sometimes a hand sketch just explains things better than a screen. The street outside is usually busy with people going to the court or the local shops. We spend our days working on plans for all sorts of buildings. It might be a new house or maybe someone wants to add a floor to their existing place. Every project has its own set of problems to solve. We don't try to be something we aren't. We are just a local architecture firm trying to do honest work for the people in this community. There is a lot of back and forth with contractors and laborers, which can be stressful, but it’s just part of the routine. We try to be clear with everyone so there are no misunderstandings later on. It isn't a glamorous job, despite what people might think. It involves a lot of checking measurements and making sure the stairs aren't too steep. We just keep doing what we do, day after day, and we’re happy with that. It is a slow process sometimes, but we prefer getting the details right over rushing everything.
