Singh Avinash Architect

I’m set up over at the Giani Zail Singh Campus. Specifically, you can find me at AP-14 in the PTU area. Being on a campus has a different feel than being in a shop downtown. It’s a bit more academic and quiet, I suppose. I spend the bulk of my time at my drafting table or sitting in front of the computer. Architecture is a slow process and you can’t really rush the drawings if you want them to be right. I work on all sorts of designs. Sometimes it's just small additions to existing buildings, other times it's bigger projects. The office isn't anything special to look at. It’s just shelves full of binders and rolls of old paper. I usually have the radio on in the background while I work. It helps pass the time during those long hours. People come by to talk about their ideas for new spaces. I listen and then try to figure out all the technical side of things that they might not have thought about. It’s a lot of measuring and then re-measuring everything. You really don't want to get the dimensions wrong once the concrete is already poured on the site. I’ve lived around here for a while, so I know the local weather and how it affects buildings. That’s a big part of the job that people forget. I don't have a big team or a receptionist. If you call, you'll probably just talk to me directly. It’s simpler that way.
