About Sidhu Guneet Kaur Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Bathinda
This is my workspace on Ajit Road. It's at House Number 2987, right on Street Number 3. I’ve been working out of this office for some time now. It’s a fairly quiet spot, which is good because architecture takes a lot of concentration and quiet time. I handle most of the projects myself. If you walked in, you'd see my desk is usually covered in sketches, pens, and rulers. It’s definitely not a big corporate office with a fancy lobby. It’s just me and the work. I spend my days looking at floor plans and talking to local people about their homes. Sometimes the phone rings a bit too much and I have to ignore it for a while just to finish a drawing on time. I like the local feel of being on Ajit Road. You get to know the neighbors and the people who walk by every day. The street gets pretty busy in the afternoons when the kids are coming home from school. I do a lot of residential stuff. People want their houses a certain way and I try my best to make it work on paper. It involves a lot of back and forth, and sometimes we have to change things three or four times. Construction is never as simple as it looks on the TV. There are always delays or things that don't go according to the plan. I just deal with it one day at a time. It's how I make my living. Architecture is slow but I like it.
