Shree Tulsi Rice Mills

Located on Tajo Ke Road. Right across from the big warehouse in Tapa Mandi. The mill is a loud place when the engines are running. You can hear it from the road. We deal with rice, obviously. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. Bags stacked high. We have a crew that’s been with us for a long time. They know the rhythm. The smell of grain is always in the air. Sometimes it gets into your clothes. In the peak season, we work long hours. The sun goes down and the lights stay on in the yard. The warehouse opposite us is always busy too. Trucks line up along the road. It can be a mess. We just focus on what’s inside the gates. The machinery needs a lot of grease and attention. We do most of the repairs ourselves. No point calling someone from the city for every little thing. The floor is always covered in a bit of husk. You sweep it, and ten minutes later it’s back. That’s just life in a rice mill. We don’t have a fancy showroom. If someone wants to see the rice, they just come into the shed. Tapa Mandi is a good place for this. The connections are easy. We just keep the mill turning and hope for a good harvest every year. The rain matters more than anything else to us. When it pours, we have to move fast to keep the grain dry. It’s just how we live.
